Financial Services Compensation Scheme
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is the statutory fund of last resort for customers of financial services firms. We pay compensation if an authorised firm is unable to pay claims against it, usually because it is insolvent.
The Scheme was set up under the terms of the Financial Services & Markets Act 2000. We are an independent, non-profit organisation and cover deposits, insurance and investments. There is no charge for bringing a claim to the Scheme.
This website provides information about our rules, how to claim, compensation limits and how we are funded. You can also download copies of our publications.
